I really love this book & I recommend this to everyone, especially people who love mischief & storytelling!! Queenie is about a girl called Elsie who lives with her nan in a flat in England before the Queen Elizabeth's coronation. Elise & Nan planned to go to the Queen's coronation together but then trouble fell on the duo & Nan was soon in the sanatorium after being diagnosed with TB. When the doctor also diagnoses Elise with TB her mum thinks they have taken a turn for the worst. Will Elsie & Nan get better in time for the Queen's coronation or will they miss out on all the fun?? Read Queenie to find out!!

Activity:
The activity I chose to do was "Which character in the book would you most like to be friends with? Why?"
I would like to be friends with is Elsie because she is a great storyteller & very mischievous. She also brings fun into the hospital that she gets into & she also gets into lots of trouble with the nurses!!

Genre: Fiction
Rating: 5/5

My next book I read was Threads which is set in England. The category  it goes under is "Read a book with a one word title".

My opinion & book review:
I really loved this book & I really recommend it to other people because it is a great story about a young designer called Elizabeth, also known as Crow, who comes from  an unsafe place in Uganda where her dad, James, mum, Grace & brother, Henry & her sister called Victoria live. At the end of the book will Crow ever get to be the designer she wants to be or more dramatic will she ever see her family again? Read Threads to find out!!

Activity:
For Threads the activity I chose do was to chose a colour that sums up the book & explain your choice:
I chose pink because the story is all about fashion & designing & dress making.

Pirouette

Pirouette
By Robyn Bavati
Published by: Penguin group Australia
Year published: 2013
Genre: Fiction
Rating: 5/5

For my second book I  chose to read Pirouette which is a novel set in Melbourne, Australia. It is a book I love. Its category is "Read a book with more than one language". The languages it has in it are English, Spanish & French

My opinion & review:

Pirouette is an amazing book & I recommend it to dancers or people who know a bit about dance because for most of the book you need to understand dancing. The reason I think this book is amazing is that 2 orphaned & adopted identical twins Hannah & Simone meet unexpectedly at a Summer Camp & swap lives!! Will the girls ever swap back to their old lives or won't they be able to bring themselves to telling the truth??

Activity:
For my activity I chose to make peg dolls for the 2 main characters, Hannah & Simone. Here is a picture of my final product.

The Butterfly Club

The Butterfly Club
By Jacqueline Wilson
Published by: Random House
Year published: 2015
Genre: Fiction
Rating: 5/5

For my first book I decided to do "The Butterfly Club" which I read over the holidays. The category it goes under is "A book published this year".

My opinion & review:
The Butterfly Club is becoming another of my favourite books! I strongly recommend this book to everyone because it is such an awesome book & it proves that anyone can change their personality!! In this book the main character is Tina who is a triplet with her sisters, Phil & Maddie. The triplets do everything together, until, when they are in Juniors their mean teacher Miss Lovejoy separates them & Tina has to sit next to the meanest girl in the school, Selma Johnson!! Will the 2 girls ever learn to get along??

Activity:

The mean girl in the class, Selma, sits next to Tina in class

Interested in butterflies

Neera becomes Phil's friend

A postman butterfly is Tina's favourite butterfly

Maddie & Phil are her triplet sisters

Anywhere Tina goes she has to take her china doll, Baby

You would really want to be friends with Tina if you were in her class

Nobody except Maddie & Phil know that Selma has taken Baby

A boy called Harry becomes friends with Maddie because they both love football

Red is a colour that is on the Postman butterflies wings

Dad, Mum, Grandad & Grandma organise a bake off to help raise funds for the Butterfly Garden
